PHILIPPINE OIL DEVELOPMENT RESEARCHER EXPLAINS THE COSTS OF LIGHTNING DAMAGE FROM PHILIPSINE OILS AND REFLECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT
PHILIPPEA, Philippines – In a remote, uninhabited region of southern Philippines, a small oil field lies idle.
A few miles away, an oil platform sits on a small, sand-covered plateau.
A pair of small, concrete blocks form a platform on which to pump oil into the sea.
The oil platform, known as a barge, is the world’s largest oil platform.
“This is the best-known oil field in the world,” said Dr. Manuel Gonzales, an assistant professor at the Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering at the University of the Philippines.
“It is the largest oil field on earth.”
Dr. Gonzales and his team have been drilling at the site for decades.
They have developed a variety of technology to control the flow of oil from the barge and the platform to the sea and back.
These include an air-borne pump, a water-powered pump, an electric pump, and a hydraulic pressure-sensing pump.
In addition, the company has also developed a robotic system called a “robot rig,” which has been used in the oil exploration industry for over 20 years.
The robots have been used to drill into the earth to retrieve oil and other materials, including rock.

The company has been developing a system to extract oil from barge sites for about 10 years.
“When we started drilling at this site, it was not easy,” Dr. Gonzares said.
“I would say we have drilled over 150,000 meters of oil, which is over 200 meters per day.
But now we have done this one field and it is working very well.
It’s a great success.”
He said it took about two years to drill the bateye.
The barge platform is located near a remote mountain village known as Chubutang in the northern province of Bicol.
The site is considered one of the poorest areas in the province.
It is surrounded by high mountains, deep valleys and forests.
The site has a population of around 6,000.
The barge site is located about 10 kilometers away.
According to Dr. Gonzalez, the badeye is part of the ongoing work of oil exploration in the area.
“The badeyes are a very important source of oil in the region because they provide a very long period of oil production,” he said.
The oil fields of the Chubuts are deep, isolated and sparsely populated.
The company has already spent $200 million in drilling the bageye and is now working on another field.
Dr. Gonzalez said the drilling of oil on badeys is an economic boon for the people of the area and the people living near the badesye.
“It is a way to support the people,” he explained.
“The people have to live here, work here, and to earn their living here.
We are helping the people and we are also helping the environment.”
The company is also developing a drilling platform for oil in a separate area, called Bicol Island, which sits in the middle of the Bicol Sea.
The island is a protected area, with no seismic activity.
There is also no pollution.
Dr Gonzales said he is hopeful that the development of oil and gas exploration in Bicol will be an economic success.
He said the Badeye will provide jobs for locals.
“There are a lot of people here who work on the oil andgas rigs,” he added.
“So the bodeys will provide some jobs for them and also help to increase the income of the local people.
So, we are really happy.”
